Youth Leadership at IVECF

Context

Youth and Inclusion at IVECF

The world needs a rapid energy transition, powered by innovation and a skilled workforce. Young people are uniquely positioned to champion new technologies, bring creative solutions, and advocate for change. In 2023, more than 150 young people from over 50 countries engaged in workshops, lectures, and interactive sessions designed by and for youth during the Youth Solutions Days. These activities strengthened skills, networks, and confidence, with targeted initiatives for young women and girls. In addition, youth worked with experts to create powerful calls to action in the areas of climate action and energy transition. Read the calls to action from youth to decision- makers.

IVECF Youth Advisory Group

Youth voices will once again play a central role at IVECF 2026, delivering strong calls to action for decision-makers. Building on previous editions, IVECF plans to re-establish a Youth Advisory Group (YAG) to bring youth perspectives directly into the Forum’s agenda.

Moreover, a Guidebook for Meaningful Youth Engagement, co-authored by the IVECF Youth Advisory Group and UNIDO partners, will help shape IVECF 2026. The guide will provide practical tools for organizations, educators, and policymakers to meaningfully involve young people in energy, climate, and industrial development.

Looking Ahead to IVECF 2026

Looking ahead to IVECF 2026, the Forum will build on past achievements through dedicated Gender and Youth Action Plans, embedding gender equality and youth inclusion across all activities. By doing so, IVECF aims to foster collaboration that is inclusive, fair, forward-looking, and strengthening our collective efforts to build a resilient and sustainable future for all.
