Michael Apicelli is a leading expert in diplomacy, international energy policy, and industrial decarbonization, currently serving as the Head of the Secretariat for the Climate Club. In this role, he leads a global, 48-member intergovernmental forum dedicated to accelerating industrial transformation while maintaining economic competitiveness and robust trade. Under Michael’s oversight, the Climate Club is dedicating to advancing its members’ vision for developing interoperable carbon accounting methodologies, advancing international lead markets for near-zero steel and cement, and ensuring the global industrial transition is both technically sound and economically resilient. Michael’s expertise is grounded in 19 years of public sector service, primarily at the U.S. Department of Energy.
