Mr. Liu Zhenmin, China's Special Envoy for Climate Change(since January 2024).Previously, he served as the UN Under-Secretary-General (2017-2022, for economic and social affairs), Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of China(2013-2017), Permanent Representative to United Nations Agencies in Geneva(Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, 2012-2013), Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs (2010-2011), Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, 2006-2010), Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law (2003-2006) , Counsellor and Deputy Director-General of the Department of Treaty and Law (1996-2003).
