Jan Dusík is an environmental policy leader with extensive experience in climate diplomacy, sustainable development, and environmental governance. Since September 2024, he has served as Deputy Director-General at the Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA) of the European Commission.
He holds an MSc in Environmental Change from the University of Oxford and both a Doctor of Law and Master of Law from Charles University in Prague.
Dusík has held several senior roles in the Czech Ministry of Environment, including Minister of Environment (2009–2010), Deputy Minister, and Government Envoy for International Climate Negotiations. He has been closely involved in EU and UN climate frameworks.
Internationally, he served as Regional Director for Europe at UNEP (2011–2017) and later as Principal Adviser on Arctic and Antarctic engagement. He also held leadership roles in the WWF Arctic Programme.
Earlier, he worked on EU environmental law and integration as founder of the Environmental Law Service and Director of the European Integration Department at the Czech Ministry of Environment.
