Prior to his appointment as the Ag. Executive Director, Mr. Obasi served as Ag. Director of Administration, Finance & ICT of ECREEE, where he was responsible for strengthening the Centre’s administrative systems, financial controls, human resources, ICT infrastructure, and overall organizational performance. In this capacity, he also provided institutional support to the Office of the Resident Representative of the President of the ECOWAS Commission in Cabo Verde, ensuring effective coordination, compliance, and operational continuity between ECREEE and the ECOWAS Commission. He further served as Controller for ECREEE, reinforcing transparency, accountability, and adherence to international standards. Before joining ECREEE in 2020, he was Head of the Disbursement Division at the ECOWAS Commission in Abuja and worked with IFRC and UNICEF. He holds a BSc in Accounting, an MBA in Banking and Finance and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
