Ambassador Dr. Ezechiel Nibigira is a senior civil servant with over 18 years of experience in diplomacy, ministerial duties, revenue mobilization, and public expenditure management. His political career includes key roles in peace negotiations, where he facilitated dialogue between opposing parties to resolve complex conflicts. With strong expertise in international relations, he has negotiated bilateral and multilateral agreements, contributing to regional and international stability. As Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister in charge of the East African Community, Youth, Sports, and Culture of the Republic of Burundi, he led strategic reforms and coordinated intergovernmental initiatives to strengthen governance and transparency. In these roles, he worked closely with organizations such as the African Union, ECCAS, EAC, COMESA, SADC, the European Union, and the United Nations. He has conducted high-level negotiations with heads of state and international leaders. Prior to this, he served as Special Envoy of the President of Burundi to the East African Community.
