Yurii Vitrenko has served as Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the International Organizations in Vienna since 2025. He previously held senior positions at the Office of the President of Ukraine, including Head of the Department for Foreign Policy and Strategic Partnership (2023-2024), contributing to the shaping and implementation of Ukraine’s foreign policy during the ongoing Russian aggression against Ukraine. A career diplomat, Mr. Vitrenko has extensive multilateral experience, particularly within the United Nations system. He served as Deputy Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN from 2016 to 2022, including during Ukraine’s non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council (2016-2017), and as Chargé d’affaires in early 2020. Earlier, he held various positions at Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Permanent Mission to the UN in New York. He holds Master’s degrees in Foreign Policy and Ukrainian Philology and is fluent in Ukrainian, English, and French.
