Honourable July G. Moyo is Zimbabwe’s Minister of Energy and Power Development, appointed in January 2025, where he leads the country’s energy transformation agenda with a focus on sustainability, innovation, and reliable power for national development. A seasoned public administrator, he brings decades of government leadership across multiple strategic portfolios. He began his career as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government, advancing capacity‑building for local authorities and strengthening institutional performance. He later served in the Office of the President and Cabinet, contributing to national strategy coordination. As Permanent Secretary, he held senior roles in the Ministries of Transport, Labour and Social Welfare, Energy, and Environment, shaping policy across infrastructure, utilities, and social development. He co‑authored the Human Resources Handbook (2000) and was instrumental in establishing the first HR department at Midlands State University. Moyo has also served as Governor of Midlands Province, Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, and Minister of Local Government and Public Works, consistently championing reforms in governance, service delivery, and institutional strengthening.
