The 91st meeting of the informal working group on Programme and Budget issues will convene as an interactive dialogue among Permanent Missions on GC.21/Res.3, “Energy–industrialization nexus in Africa”, adopted at the 21st session of the General Conference of UNIDO in November 2025. The resolution underscores that reliable, sustainable, and affordable energy is fundamental to advancing industrial development, economic diversification, and inclusive growth across the continent.

The meeting aims to provide an overview of the resolution’s key priority areas and present UNIDO’s flagship projects under implementation, while outlining opportunities and modalities for African countries to engage in existing programmes and for scaling up UNIDO’s portfolio in this field.

It will also offer a platform for Member States to exchange views, provide inputs, and explore potential collaboration, contributing to the development of an Action Plan for the resolution.

Attendance to this session is restricted to delegates from UNIDO Member States only.
