Dr. Sajith Wijesuriya obtained his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Sciences) . He works as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) of the United States and works at the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM) workstreams Clean Energy Solutions Center (CESC) and NICE Future, and 21CPP. Most recently the United Nations included him in the Expert Group Meeting in Support of the Mid-Point Review of SDG 7 at the HLPF 2023 recognizing him as an expert on the UN-Energy process. He has been involved in the SDG7 review and implementation process since 2017, working together with the United Nations and multilateral partners like SEforALL, IRENA, IEA, and REN21.
