Martin Pei is Executive Vice President and CTO of SSAB. He holds a PhD from The Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He is a member of the Group Executive Committee since 2007 and employed at SSAB since 2001. Previously he held various positions within SSAB.
Mr. Pei is the initiator of the HYBRIT initiative, a cooperation between SSAB, LKAB and Vattenfall and served as the first-term chairman of board for Hybrit Development AB. He is currently chairman of board for SWERIM—the Swedish Research Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Metals Research, and member of the board for Jernkontoret. Mr. Pei is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy for Engineering Sciences and received the Tadeusz Sendzimir Memorial Medal 2023, presented by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology, AIST, May 2023.
