Program Officer, Off Grid Energy at Diamond Development Initiatives
David Arinze is the Program Officer, Off-Grid Energy Program with Diamond Development Initiatives. He provides technical assistance, grants management, project monitoring, remediation support, technological support and the facilitation of access to follow-on financing to early and mid-stage renewable energy companies funded by the United States African Development Foundation (USADF), All On – Shell and John D Rockefeller Foundation.
He has supported over 40 companies to successfully deploy renewable energy projects which include; solar powered mini-grids for rural electrification, solar-powered cold storage solutions, Solar-powered drying solutions, solar kiosks, solar milling solutions, biogas rural electrification, biomass rural electrification. These projects have generated about 2MW of off Grid electricity and created over 10,000 connections to over 8,000 households, 2,000 businesses impacting over 400,000 people across 15 states in Nigeria so far.
His Industry experience revolves around Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Off-Grid Energy. He also supports the Oil & Gas Thematic Working Group of the Federal Ministry of Budget & Planning. David is also a member of the energy policy commission of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group which is a foremost private sector-led think-tank and policy advocacy group based in Nigeria which promotes sustainable growth and the development of the Nigerian economy.
