Executive Director, Greenpeace Central Eastern Europe
Alexander Egit studied political science and journalism. He has been working in the field of the environmental policy issues since the 1980s, including several years at Global 2000. Since 1996 he has worked in various management positions at Greenpeace Austria with a focus on environmental campaigning. He was crucially involved in the expansion of campaign work and the building of offices in Eastern Europe, as well as in many international projects, such as the development of Greenpeace China. Alexander Egit has from 2006 been the Executive Director of the regional office Greenpeace in Central and Eastern Europe with its headquarters in Vienna.
