Helen Hai

CEO, Made in Africa Initiative; Advisor to African governments on industrialization and investment promotion

Helen was the co-founder of C&H Garments, a pioneer Pan-Africa export-oriented garments manufacturer.

She is also a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) responsible for industrialization in Africa.

She was trained as an actuary in the United Kingdom, and has around 20 years of international experience in FTSE100 companies. She has a BA in actuarial science and MSc in actuarial management from CASS Business School in London and EMBA from INSEAD and Tsinghua University.

Helen was named a 2015 Global Young Leader by World Economic Forum, the 2015 African Business Icon Award, and in 2016 was awarded as Officer of the National Order of Lion of Senegal.

She is co-chair of the Global Future Council on the Future of Consumption for the World Economic Forum, and is a Commissioner at the Global Commission on Business and Sustainable Development.
