Advisor to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Indonesia
Dadan Kusdiana was born in Sumedang on December 29th, 1968. He graduated from Bogor Agricultural University in 1992 majoring Agricultural Engineering. In 2014, he succeeded in achieving doctoral degree from Kyoto University majoring Energy and Environment Science, in particular on biofuel process-technology.
Dadan Kusdiana has joined Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources since 1992 at renewable energy division. Since 2014, he has been assigned to develop biofuel and rural energy. He also actively participated in Indonesian Biodiesel Forum, became a board member for Indonesian Bioenergy Expert Association as well as Indonesian Renewable Energy Society.
In 2013, he was appointed as the Director of Bioenergy and in 2015 he was then appointed as Director of Plantation Fund Management Board for Palm Oil, a new agency under Ministry of Finance. His main duty was encouraging the implementation of biodiesel from palm oil nationally. Then in 2017, he was assigned to be the Secretary of Directorate General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation. He also became the spokesman of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources twice in 2015 and 2017. Currently, he serves as Senior Advisor to the Minister on Economics of Natural Resources.
