One Year after Rio+20: The Energy Future We Want

The event, co-organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Austrian Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs and the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), will bring together over 1600 participants, including heads of State, ministers, energy experts, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations, academia, civil society and the private sector.
The Vienna Energy Forum 2013 will focus on the energy dimension captured in the Rio+20 outcome document “The Future We Want” and will facilitate on how energy should be integrated into the post- 2015 global development framework.
In 2011 the Forum brought together more than 1,200 participants from 125 countries and a total of 99 speakers including the Former Governor of California, Mr. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Former President of Nigeria, Mr. Olusegun Obasanjo, and Former President of Uruguay, Mr. Julio Maria Sanguinetti Coirolo.
