IVECF to empower youth to bring solutions to accelerate the energy transition and climate action

Youth Solutions Days, 30 October – 1 November 2023, Vienna

The world needs a rapid energy transition which depends on building up a skilled workforce and unleashing the power of innovation. Young people are particularly well positioned to take up new energy and climate technologies, bring creative solutions to the table and advocate for change. To release their full potential in the energy transition, supportive systems must be upscaled to educate, train and mentor youth to further develop their skills.

Under the umbrella of the International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum “solutions week”, Youth Solutions Days on 30 October – 1 November 2023 will mobilize youth to actively engage in climate action and the energy transition, building up their competence, knowledge, network and self-confidence. Targeted activities for young women and girls will also take place. The youth-focused event is co-organized with Sustainable Energy for All in partnership with the City of Vienna and the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

The entire event programme was designed for and by youth under the leadership of the Forum’s Youth Steering Committee to respond to the needs of young people and enable them to fully and meaningfully take part in the International Vienna Energy and Climate Forum, taking place from 30 October to 1 November 2023.

Registration for Youth Solutions Days is now open. As there are limited places for fully sponsored youth participants, we have teamed up with the Major Group for Children and Youth, the UN established body acting as a bridge between young people and the UN system, to guide the selection process of sponsored youth participants. Learn more and register now.
