Plenary 2: Solutions for Decarbonizing the Built Environment
In this high-level plenary, we will explore the importance of decarbonizing the manufacturing of construction material like steel, cement and concrete in contributing to GHG emissions. The session will examine the state of progress in the decarbonization of these sectors, critical actions needed to accelerate their decarbonization and turn the emission curve downwards by 2030. It will also discuss the financing needs particularly for the global south and what is needed to unlock the millions needed to remain within the carbon budget.
