Energizing Development of Smallholder Farmers

The Sustainable energy for smallholder farmers project is a IKEA F. co-funded project – with its market based approach it is focusing on finding and piloting scalable, innovative PUE business cases for smallholder farmers and related local businesses of agricultural value chains in the implementation countries Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya. With country snapshots of these three countries the audience gets a detailed insight in the PUE market and how renewable energy is used by value chain actors in the horticulture and dairy value chain. Further, the innovative framework of the project with its cross-country learning agenda, innovation fund and adaptive programming approach will be presented to the audience. Funded by the IKEA Foundation, the sustainable energy for smallholder farmers project will be implemented by GIZ, SNV and RVO, through Energizing Development (EnDev.)
