Biogas for productive uses, industrial and mobility applications
Please find the draft agenda here!
Biogas holds a great potential as a low carbon alternative to fossil fuels for utilization in productive uses and industrial applications as well as mobility applications worldwide. In the recent past, the use of industrial scale biogas has significantly expanded and is now contributing to heat and power supply in a variety of industries. However, biogas technology faces various challenges related to its successful implementation and uptake.
In this context, the Energy Branch of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), in partnership with the European Biogas Association, the International Center on Renewable Energy-Biogas (CIBiogás-ER) and the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), is organizing the one-day workshop on “Biogas for productive uses, industrial and mobility applications” during the run-up to the Vienna Energy Forum 2015.
The event will take place on 17th June 2015 at UNIDO Headquarters, conference room C1.
The workshop will provide a forum for knowledge exchange and discussion amongst stakeholders from the public and private sector engaged with biogas-based solutions. Specifically policy makers as well as national experts implementing technical cooperation projects with a focus on biogas solutions in developing countries and countries with economies in transition are expected to benefit.
Innovative technological approaches and lessons learnt from ongoing international projects, insights into new developments for regulatory frameworks, as well as the possibilities to generate biogas, refine and use it as electric and/or vehicle energy will form a part of the day’s agenda. In addition, the workshop will be enriched by the presence of representatives from the Brazilian Biogas Association (ABiogás), the German Biogas Association and the Austrian Biogas Association.
